MILIVOJE ĆIRKOVIĆ INDICTED FOR SREBRENICA KILLINGS

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH has filed an indictment against Milivoje Cirkovic (1973), charged with the commission of the criminal offence of Crimes against Humanity in violation of Article 172 of the BiH CC.

The prosecutor of the Regional Team VI of the Special Department for War Crimes attached to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, has filed an indictment against Milivoje Ćirković, born on 3 November 1973 in Bratunac, citizen of BiH.

The indictment alleges that Milivoje Ćirković, as a member of the Jahorina Training Centre of the Special Police Brigade (SBP) of the RS MUP, in the period from 10 July until 19 July 1995, during the attack of the VRS and the RS MUP on the UN Safe Area of Srebrenica, acting in accordance with the order issued by the commander known to him, on 14 July 1995, in the morning hours, near the Farming Cooperative Warehouse Kravica, with a view to killing him, fired from an automatic rifle in the back of a captured man, Bosniak civilian.

The accused is charged with the following: by acting in the above manner, in the scope of the wide-spread and systematic attack aimed against the Bosniak civilian population, knowing of such an attack, he killed one Bosniak captive, by which he committed the criminal offence of Crimes against Humanity in violation of Article 172 (1) a) (killing a person) of the BiH CC, in conjunction with Article 29 and Article 180 (1) of the BiH CC.

The indictment has been submitted to the Court of BiH.
