DID YOU KNOW?  -- Three years before the 1995 Srebrenica Genocide, Serbs torched Bosniak villages and killed at least 3,166 Bosniaks around Srebrenica. In 1993, the UN described the besieged situation in Srebrenica as a "slow-motion process of genocide." In July 1995, Serbs forcibly expelled 25,000 Bosniaks, brutally raped many women and girls, and systematically killed 8,000+ men and boys (DNA confirmed).

18TH ANNIVERSARY OF SUSICA CONCENTRATION CAMP'S CLOSURE

Today is the 18th anniversary of the Susica concentration camp's closure. Some 8,000 Bosniak civilians from Srebrenica, Bratunac and Vlasenica had been tortured in this camp. Serb soldiers took the girls as young as 12 years old from the camp. They raped them and then returned them to their mothers in the camp. Former camp guard, Pero Popovic, testified that "on the basis of individual and mass executions he personally witnessed, close to 3,000 Muslims from around Vlasenica lost their lives at Susica.. 'In all, about 3,000 were killed.'"
