DID YOU KNOW?  -- Three years before the 1995 Srebrenica Genocide, Serbs torched Bosniak villages and killed at least 3,166 Bosniaks around Srebrenica. In 1993, the UN described the besieged situation in Srebrenica as a "slow-motion process of genocide." In July 1995, Serbs forcibly expelled 25,000 Bosniaks, brutally raped many women and girls, and systematically killed 8,000+ men and boys (DNA confirmed).

Provocation: Local Serbian fascists have illegally (with no permission from Srebrenica authorities) built this church next to Srebrenica's Budak mass grave in the immediate vicinity of the Srebrenica Genocide Memorial in a purely Muslim settlement and for the whole purpose of intimidating and humiliating victims and survivors of the Siege of Srebrenica (1992-1995) and the July 1995 Srebrenica massacre. Picture taken June 2, 2011.

Elderly Bosniak woman Mejra Cakanovic poses next to an illegally constructed church built by local Serb fascists in the immediate vicinity of the Srebrenica Genocide Memorial in Potocari, June 2, 2011. The victims of the Srebrenica massacre are buried at the memorial centre, and the Bosniaks who were found in a mass grave after --  being tortured and executed -- are buried near the church as well. Mejra lost two sons and her husband during the 1992-95 Bosnian Genocide.
