DID YOU KNOW ?          -- Three years before the 1995 Srebrenica massacre, Serbs destroyed 296 Bosniak villages and killed at least 3,166 Bosniaks around Srebrenica.  In 1993, the UN described the situation in Srebrenica as a "slow-motion process of genocide." In July 1995, Serbs forcibly expelled 25,000 Bosniaks, brutally raped many women and girls, and systematically killed 8,000+ men and boys (DNA confirmed).

This is so unbelievably sad. They can put Karadzic away for life, but what good will it do for this woman? Someone needs to step in and take these towns away from those who control them now, otherwise the Bosnian Serbs succeeded at what they started. Is it possible to give people like this woman their property back?

Kanita, it is possible, but do not expect the international community to do that for you. I believe the Bosniaks must stand up for themselves, I advocate that "repluka srpska" be abolished and dissolved and its institutions and organizations outlawed. The ICTY can put Karadzic behind bars for life, but since they don't question the existence of the Serb "entity", one should not expect too much from them. And Bosnia is a very small country, if the serb war criminals who did this are allowed to run free, they, or their friends will try to get even with those of their victims who dared testify against them, and they would do it even in Bosniak-controlled territory. Even if Bosnia were reunified. Therefore I believe that since international justice failed to put them behind bars where they belong, then the Bosniaks must do it themselves or, if need be, get rid of tehm, Their names and tehir faces are well known and Bosnia is a very small country. And if somebody ever harmed my wife or my daughter I would kill him, even if I were sent to jail for life or condemned to death for that. This is exactly what I would do. I believe in justice, yes, I do. But I do not trust the judiciary. Not a millimeter. I believe in the rule of law, but I also see that the law is often lenient and indulgent withthe criminal and callously disregards the victim.
