DID YOU KNOW?  -- Three years before the 1995 Srebrenica Genocide, Serbs torched Bosniak villages and killed at least 3,166 Bosniaks around Srebrenica. In 1993, the UN described the besieged situation in Srebrenica as a "slow-motion process of genocide." In July 1995, Serbs forcibly expelled 25,000 Bosniaks, brutally raped many women and girls, and systematically killed 8,000+ men and boys (DNA confirmed).

VIDEO - THE TRAUMA OF THE BLUE BERETS

PHOTO: In July 1995, many Bosniak women collapsed due to stress and intimidation caused by Serb soldiers who herded refugees in small enclosures in Potocari, opportunistically raped young women (read here) and cut throats of young boys in the nearby wheat field. The stress directly caused by Serb actions in Potocari caused some pregnant women to lose their babies (read here). Some women committed suicide (read here).

Another great video documentary about Srebrenica from Journeyman Pictures, titled: "Srebrenica: The Trauma of the Blue Berets," focuses on the trauma suffered by some Dutchbat peacekeepers that were stationed in Srebrenica in 1995. Journeyman Pictures is London's leading independent distributor of investigative news features, documentaries and footage. They also authored a fascinating investigative documentary titled "Bosnia - Lost Images" which showed how Serbs attempted to cover up the evidence of Srebrenica genocide by cutting out and erasing important scenes from Zoran Petrovic's video.

In their latest documentary, you will see Henry Van De Belt, who is one of the few former Dutchbat soldiers to return to Srebrenica after 1995. One of his local Bosniak friends, a hairdresser in Srebrenica, "has lost 97 family members [in the Srebrenica genocide]."

Warning: This short documentary contains one small error. In one sentence, it accusses Ratko Mladic of separating 'Serb' families and sending them to their deaths: "He forced thousands of Serb families to separate - one way women and daughters, the other way husbands and their fathers - to their deaths." The error was not deliberate; it was done inadvertently during the editing.
