DID YOU KNOW?  -- Three years before the 1995 Srebrenica Genocide, Serbs torched Bosniak villages and killed at least 3,166 Bosniaks around Srebrenica. In 1993, the UN described the besieged situation in Srebrenica as a "slow-motion process of genocide." In July 1995, Serbs forcibly expelled 25,000 Bosniaks, brutally raped many women and girls, and systematically killed 8,000+ men and boys (DNA confirmed).

* VIDEO Report from Federal TV
(you need Real Player to watch it)

The team of experts working for the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office Tuzla began searching a cave "Spilja Pola" on the mountain Bisini near Sekovici. The cave is one of the most horrific mass graves ever discovered in the area. The victims of the Srebrenica genocide were lined up and then killed in front of the cave, and then thrown into a pit about fifty meters deep. Near the entrance the experts found bullets used to kill victims, automatic rifle, the skeletal remains and numerous unexploded devices.

This mass grave was first located by the investigators working for the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY or Hague Tribunal). Exhumations are carried out in extremely difficult circumstances. Amor Masovic, members of the Instittue for Missing Persons in Bosnia-Herzegovina, said the victims were from Srebrenica.

The members of the exhumation team also include police officers, deminers, doctors, mountaineers... There is a risk of possibly yet undiscovered explosive devices and the possibility of landslide around the entrance to the cave.
