SREBRENICA MOTHERS STILL REMEMBER THEIR LOVES ONES
Women of Srebrenica are our heroes. And they sure are strong women - a kind of women everybody would be proud of. They speak up, they protest, they hold peaceful vigils, they condemn injustice and they reach out to whoever is willing to listen to them. And they sure are tired of politicians who misuse Srebrenica's tragedy for their own gains.
It is no secret that Bosniak politicians regularly visit Srebrenica before elections to score whatever points they can and then they leave, never to be seen again.

The message on the banner reads: "SREBRENICA 11.7.1995 LET US NOT FORGET. WE'RE LOOKING FOR OUR MISSING" |
Every 11-th day of the month, Mothers of Srebrenica regularly stage a peaceful vigil in the Bosnian city of Tuzla to remind the public of genocide in Srebrenica.
Today, mothers held pictures of their loved ones and embroidered names of the missing to bear witness to Crimes Against Humanity committed by Serb forces during the Siege of Srebrenica (April 1992- June 1995) and Genocide that occurred in July of 1995 after the fall of Srebrenica.
Mothers are bitter because, they say, politicians use Srebrenica to collect political points while they pay no attention to the pain and the grief of Srebrenica survivors.
Srebrenica women recite Muslim prayer for over 11,000 Bosniak victims of the Srebrenica region who were killed by Serb forces between April 1992 and July 1995. |
