DID YOU KNOW?  -- Three years before the 1995 Srebrenica Genocide, Serbs torched Bosniak villages and killed at least 3,166 Bosniaks around Srebrenica. In 1993, the UN described the besieged situation in Srebrenica as a "slow-motion process of genocide." In July 1995, Serbs forcibly expelled 25,000 Bosniaks, brutally raped many women and girls, and systematically killed 8,000+ men and boys (DNA confirmed).

Subject: Report

The 178th day of war in the Srebrenica area has taken its deadly toll. There have been many casualties due to the daily shelling and infantry and aerial attacks on the free territory of Srebrenica. In the most recent fighting, the given figures are for early October, 34 persons have been killed and 18 seriously and 42 slightly wounded.

Further, as a result of Chetnik barbarism, a large number of inhabitants have been left homeless. There are over 70,000 inhabitants in the free territory of Srebrenica including refugees from Bratunac, Han Pijesak, Vlasenica and Visegrad, etc. More than 40/?,000/ are homeless and have taken refugee in camps in the nearby woods.

The situation regarding medicines has been critical for some time now and the public has been informed about this. There is simply not a single antibiotic, bandage and so on... and so the wounded receive very primitive medical treatment. For example, a slightly complicated injury results in death.

We call on the R BH / Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina/ Presidency, the R BH Government, the UNHCR and all international humanitarian organisations to prove their humanitarian character through their deeds and send a convoy of humanitarian aid in food, medicines and medical supplies for the hungry and infirm inhabitants of Srebrenica since every day the number of people who will be needing humanitarian aid increases.

For this reason, we call on you once again to please take this appeal into consideration and send aid and show that you really deserve the label you are distinguished by - humanitarian. Thank you!
