In 1993, the UN described the besieged situation in Srebrenica as a "slow-motion process of genocide." In July 1995, Serbs forcibly expelled 25,000 Bosniaks, brutally raped many women and girls, and systematically killed 8,000+ men and boys (DNA confirmed).

Final World Cup Match Falls on the 15th Anniversary of Genocide

The final 2010 World Cup match is scheduled to conclude on July 11 in Johanesburg, South Africa. The day also falls on the 15th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide - the first genocide in Europe since the Holocaust.

A member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina 's Parliament Adem Huskic has addressed the FIFA President
Sepp Blatter with the letter asking the world football organization to honor the victims of the Srebrenica genocide with a moment of silence on July 11.

He expressed his hope the FIFA President will accept his request, adding the moment of silence is the least that can be done for Srebrenica victims to be remembered.
